Rock Cod Rigs are best used to catch rockfish. But can be used to catch cod, baitfish, croaker, and smelt. There are swivels attached at each end of the rig. The main line is 60 lbs and the branch line is 30 lbs. They come in an easy pull packaging. You can use a lead or metal bar type jig as a weight to attach to the snap swivel so the rig can be lowered to the bottom. Another option is to attach small pieces of bait such as squid to the hooks. These rigs produce a slow vertical jigging motion which will induce the strikes from the Rockfish. These rigs are popular on the west coast from Mexico to the Pacific Northwest as well as the East Coast from Florida to up north in Canada.
