    Description

    Up for auction is an antique Wax Head Doll. I believe the Wax is over Composition, but not sure. Blue Glass Eyes. The head and shoulders are separated from the body and needs to be reattached. Forearms and Legs are Composition. Painted Shoes. The hair and clothing appear to be original. The under clothing is torn from around one side of back collar area, but looks like it could be mended fairly easily. The ribbons on each side of the bonnet may also have been cut short. Besides the head and shoulders being separated, the doll is in overall very nice condition, especially for the age. I could not remove the clothing, but do not feel any further damage. The tag that came on the doll when I purchased it, stated that it was German and from circa 1860's. That may or may not be accurate. I am definitely not an expert, especially on this type of doll, so please look at all pictures and ask any questions that I have not answered.
